Bob Oldright
Deacon

Bob Oldright was born in Richland, Washington. He is married to his college sweetheart, Jani.  They have been blessed with three children: Jeff (married to Lindsay), Jill (married to Andrew), and John (married to Rebecca). He and Jani also have seven grandchildren: Ellie, Noah, Asher, Adalyn, Zeke, Asher, and Jude.

He graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 1977. He became a believer in Jesus Christ later in his life. “After being asked for many years to attend a prayer breakfast, I finally didn't have an excuse not to attend. It was a life-changing moment in my life; at the time I was struggling,” he says. “The guest speaker was telling his life story and it was like he was reciting mine. As I really listened, it became apparent that I had a large hole in my life and Jesus Christ was what was missing. I accepted Christ that morning, asking him to be Lord of my life.”

He began attending Christ’s Church in 2017. His ministry passion is that the scriptures show us in so many verses that we are called to be encouragers. “That is my passion, to encourage,” he says. “I seek to help where Christ has placed me, to encourage others wherever they are, and to use what gifts Christ has given me for His glory.”

His favorite things to do in his spare time are biking, boating, and working in the garden. His favorite childhood memory is growing up in Browns Point, and his favorite Pacific Northwest getaway is Hood Canal.

Christ’s Church exists to glorify God by making more and better disciples of Jesus Christ through intentional relationships.
