Lindsay was born and raised in Santa Clarita, California, in a Christian home with her two brothers. When she was in kindergarten at a local Christian school, one of the boys in her class was diagnosed with leukemia. Suddenly, she was aware of death. As her mom drove Lindsay and her brothers to visit her grandparents an hour away, she began questioning her mom about Jesus, faith, salvation, death, and heaven. There on the side of I-5 between Santa Clarita and Lancaster, she accepted Jesus as her Savior. When she was in junior high, she began to see that she had been living for herself instead of allowing Jesus to be Lord of her life. At youth camp, she committed to following Jesus all of her days and humbling herself beneath His lordship over her life!
After graduating high school, she attended The Master’s University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music in Vocal Performance. But she felt like the thing that she gained the most from her professors was learning how to have a biblical worldview in every field of study and every moment of the day. After college, she moved up to Everett, Washington, for a change of scenery and to be closer to her older brother and his family.
While attending the Singles’ BSF in Seattle, Lindsay met her future husband, Jeff. She and Jeff have a son and a daughter.
The Oldrights began attending Christ’s Church in 2020. Lindsay serves in the Women’s Ministry in a variety of ways and helps occasionally on the main service worship team. Her ministry passions are biblical literacy and showing women how to study the Bible and meditate on it day and night, helping other women find their full satisfaction in Christ alone, and equipping women in whatever their role to hear Jesus say, “…“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master’” (Matthew 25:21).
A few of her favorite books are Gentle and Lowly by Dane Ortlund, The Joy of Fearing God by Jerry Bridges, and Side by Side by Ed Welch. She enjoys reading, writing, gardening, and traveling. Her favorite Pacific Northwest getaway is Victoria, British Columbia.
