We teach that we exist to glorify God and enjoy Him forever (1 Corinthians 10:31; Colossians 1:16, Psalms 16:11). Therefore, living for any other purpose is a futile pursuit.

We teach God has given a written record and testimony of His will for mankind called the Scriptures – 39 books of the Old Testament and 27 books of the New Testament (2 Timothy 3:16-17).  God interacted with human writers so that every word of the original writings was exactly as He wanted (2 Peter 1:20-21) and accurate in all matters to which it speaks (John 17:17; Psalm 19:7).  The Scriptures are the complete (Jude 3; Revelation 22:18), sufficient (Psalm 19:6-14) and final authority for our lives (Matthew 4:4; Hebrews 4:12).  Therefore, without God’s Word, people are unable by human wisdom to understand the purpose, problem and solution of life.

We teach there is one living God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:5-7) who exists in three co-equal, co-eternal yet distinct Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). These three are one God and worthy of all worship and glory (Revelation 4:11) as Creator (Genesis 1:1), Redeemer (Isaiah 44:6) and final Judge (Psalm 9:8). God begins and ends all things according to His purpose and will (Ephesians 1:11).  Therefore, all other gods are false idols.

We teach that Jesus Christ is fully God (John 10:30-33) and fully man (Philippians 2:5-8).  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:18-20), born of the virgin Mary (Matthew 1:21-25), lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), performed miracles (Matthew 11:4-5), died a substitutionary death for our sins (1 Peter 2:24), was buried and bodily rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:3-4), appeared to the apostles and other witnesses (1 Corinthians 15:5-8), ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of His Father in glory (Hebrews 1:3) and is now interceding as High Priest for those who believe in Him (Hebrews 7:24-26). Therefore, without Jesus Christ, people are left eternally hopeless, without forgiveness and eternal life.

We teach that the Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4). He convicts people of sin (John 16:7-9), activates salvation (Titus 3:4-5), indwells every believer (Romans 8:9), unites believers with the church (1 Corinthians 12:13), empowers righteous and obedient living (Ephesians 3:16; Galatians 5:16-25) and transforms character and lifestyle (2 Corinthians 3:17-18; Galatians 5:22-23) as each believer yields to His power (Ephesians 5:18; Galatians 5:16). He equips every believer with spiritual gifts to serve the church and the world (1 Peter 4:10-11).  Therefore, without the ministry of the Holy Spirit, people are unable to live a life pleasing to God.

We teach that God created man from conception in His own image (Genesis 1:26-28; 9:6; Psalm 139:13). However, because Adam and Eve, the first humans, chose to rebel against God, all people inherit Adam’s sinful nature (Psalm 51:5; Romans 5:12) and choose to sin (Romans 3:10-11, 23).  This sinful condition results in separation from God (Isaiah 59:2) and death that is physical, spiritual and eternal (Romans 6:23) thus rendering all people unable by personal effort to reconcile themselves to God (Galatians 3:22; Romans 8:8).  Therefore, we recognize the value of all human life and understand the ultimate problem of life is spiritual, not physical, emotional or mental.

We teach that forgiveness of sin comes only through the Person of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12) whose substitutionary death on the cross made full payment for our sins (2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 1:18-21). Forgiveness thus cannot be earned by any form of human effort (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7).  Salvation is a free gift received through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Romans 6:23), repentance from sin (Acts 26:20) and confession that Jesus Christ is Lord (Romans 10:9-10) and is eternally secured by God (John 10:27-28; Romans 8:29-30; 1 Peter 1:3-5). The evidence of genuine salvation is demonstrated in a transformed life of growth, ministry, love and good works (John 14:15; Acts 2:42; Ephesians 2:10; 1 John 2:3-5). The goal of salvation is to conform every believer into the likeness of Jesus Christ (Romans 8:29).  Therefore, salvation is found nowhere else other than in the Person and work of Jesus Christ.

We teach that God created and blessed the family as the foundation of society.  Marriage—only and exclusively—unites one born as a natural man with one born as a natural woman in a life-long commitment to each other (Genesis 2:23-24; Matthew 19:4-6).  Marriage provides for intimate companionship, pure sexual expression and procreation; and it reflects the relationship of Christ and the church (Genesis 2:18, 24-25; Proverbs 5:15-19; Ephesians 5:31-33).  A husband is commanded to love his wife as Christ loved the church and a wife is commanded to submit to her husband as the church submits to Christ (Ephesians 5:22-33).  Children are a gift from God and are fully human from conception (Psalm 127:3; 139:13-16). Parents are to care for the needs of their children, training them for life by godly example, biblical instruction and loving discipline (Deuteronomy 6:4-7; Proverbs 1:8-9; 13:24; 22:6).  Children are to obey and honor their parents (Exodus 20:12; Proverbs 23:22; Ephesians 6:1-3; Colossians 3:20).  Some who are unmarried are called to live pure and single-minded lives in the faith (1 Corinthians 7:8, 25-35). Therefore, any alteration of God's original design is a distortion of His purposes for the enjoyment and flourishing of society.

We teach that all who put their faith in Jesus Christ are placed into one spiritual body, the church (1 Corinthians 12:13), of which Christ is the head (Ephesians 1:22). All believers are called to participate faithfully in the ministry of the church by devoting themselves to worship, prayer, God’s Word, observance of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, service and outreach (Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:25; 1 Corinthians 11:24-25; Matthew 28:19).  The mission of the church is to "make disciples" of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20) and to maintain holiness by helping sinning believers experience restoration through a loving process of church discipline (Matthew 18:15-20). The local church is governed by pastors and elders (Acts 20:28; Titus 1:5-9), godly men who are called to lead, protect and equip the church to serve the Lord (Ephesians 4:11-16).  The church is self-supported by the generous giving of her members (1 Corinthians 16:1-2).  Therefore, believers cannot exist faithfully or obediently apart from a vital commitment to the local church.

We teach a physical, visible and soon return of Jesus Christ for His Church (Revelation 1:7; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).  He will judge the earth and its people and rule His eternal kingdom in righteousness (Revelation 6-19; 20:1-10).  Everyone will be resurrected by Christ, either to experience everlasting life with the Lord in a new heaven and new earth or to experience everlasting punishment in hell (John 5:29; Revelation 20:11-15; 21:1-22:6).  Therefore, the end of all things is determined by God’s sovereign plan and will not be at the mercy of time, space, human wisdom or random chance.
