Sean Toler
Worship Arts Director
Sean grew up in South Alabama and has served in multiple churches across the Southeast before moving to Federal Way to serve as the Worship Arts Director of CCFW in 2022.
He received a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in voice from the University of Montevallo in Alabama and has also taken a few courses from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Sean’s parents, who were Christian songwriters and performers, led him to have a unique life of occasionally joining them and traveling out of town to lead worship. The day before his seventh birthday, his parents were performing for a small congregation. As usual, his mom led an altar call, an opportunity for anyone who felt the Holy Spirit's leading to pray for forgiveness and to follow Jesus. He says, “Even though my mother was on the platform and my dad was running the sound, I made my first confession of faith that day. While I strove to live for Christ throughout my childhood and was baptized much later at the age of 14, it wasn't until my senior year in high school that I recognized the need to commit myself to Christ before I attended college fully.” He chose to read through the book of John, most of Paul's letters, and the book Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis while he came to adopt the identity of Christ above all else fully. Since then, God has continually stoked the passion to serve Him in whatever capacity is available using the spiritual and natural gifts he has been given by God.
At previous churches, he has led small Bible studies and life groups, taught Bible drills, led multiple musical ensembles, and helped out with any ministry needing help. You may see him often on stage doing music, but he loves serving regardless of ministry, especially working with children’s ministry.
Sean is a big fan of C.S. Lewis, both fiction and non-fiction. He has recently enjoyed reading On the Verge by Alan Hirsch and Dave Ferguson, Gay Girl, Good God by Jackie Hill Perry, and Analog Christian by Jay Y. Kim.
In his free time, he enjoys board games, video games, and watching movies. He loves playing and creating music and acting in community theater.
He is still in search of his favorite Pacific Northwest getaway…
