Meet Steve
Steve has been a part of CCFW since 1988, and his life story is one of faith, service, and deep personal connection. Born and raised in the South Sound, Steve married Wendy in 1982, they raised two children, Andrew and Katie, and have four grandchildren.
In 1985, Steve and Wendy’s lives were forever changed when they both accepted Christ at a small church in Tacoma. Since then, Steve has dedicated his life to meaningful one-on-one discipleship, helping others grow in their faith through personal relationships. He’s passionate about salvation, spiritual growth, and guiding others on their journey with Christ.
When asked what makes him sad, glad, and mad, Steve’s answers reveal his heart. The thing that saddens him most is the death of someone without Christ. “It’s a reminder of the importance of sharing the gospel—and to be alert to the opportunities we have to do so,” he reflects. What makes him glad is simple: "Time with family." He deeply values time with family, and it’s those moments that bring him the most joy—especially time with his grandchildren. And what makes him mad? "False teaching." Steve has always had a deep commitment to truth, and he stands firm in his belief in the gospel and in the word of God.
While his life is marked by ministry and service, Steve also knows how to enjoy life’s simpler pleasures. A lover of the outdoors, he spends his free time walking, playing golf, and traveling. He enjoys a wide range of music, from The Beatles to Christian, both traditional hymns and contemporary. An avid sports fan, Steve follows a variety of sports, but most enjoys spending fall afternoons at Husky Stadium, cheering on his beloved Huskies.
Steve’s life is a beautiful example of the transformative power of grace and the deep impact of living with purpose and faith. Whether in his ministry or personal life, Steve’s story is one of commitment to Christ and to those he serves.
