Steve Jung
Deacon

Steve Jung has been a beloved member of CCFW since 1986. He serves as a deacon and impacts countless lives with his dedication and compassion. Born in Renton, Washington, Steve’s life is a beautiful reflection of love, faith, and commitment.

Steve and his wife Lori were married on October 15, 1980, a special date that coincided with his grandparents’ 48th anniversary. Together, they’ve built a strong and loving family with three wonderful children: Kris (born in 1982), Kari (born in 1983), and Kyle (born in 1984). Steve graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1976 and has since carried his values of hard work and integrity into every aspect of his life.

Raised in a loving family that attended the Lutheran church, Steve didn’t discover a personal relationship with Christ until later in life. “My wife Lori gave her life to Christ when Kris was a baby,” Steve shares. “She began to witness and pray for me. I made Christ the Lord of my life about three years after Lori during a pastoral visit.” His testimony is a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness and the impact of prayer.

Steve’s ministry passion lies in serving others and working with youth. In his leisure time, Steve enjoys woodworking and cherishing moments with his grandchildren.

Steve has a variety of favorites that reflect his personality and interests. He loves the book 1776 and finds inspiration in the biblical book of Nehemiah. His favorite childhood memory is floating down the Yakima River during summer.

When it comes to food, anything coffee-flavored is sure to be a hit, especially if caramel is involved. His taste in music spans most genres from the '60s and '70s, and he’s a fan of the TV show Last Man Standing. A devoted supporter of the Mariners and the Seahawks, Steve also enjoys a good Northwest getaway, with Seaside, Oregon, being a favorite destination. For dining out, he recommends the German Diner in Lacey, particularly the Jaeger Schnitzel.

Christ’s Church exists to glorify God by making more and better disciples of Jesus Christ, through intentional relationships.
