A Special Message from our Leadership Team

A Special Message from our Leadership Team

We are very excited to regather in person throughout our church this week after a brief COVID-related interruption to our normal ministry gatherings. In light of the Governor’s new temporary measures, we are pleased to continue meeting in person as we did before on Sundays and throughout our entire ministry (none of the new measures change any of our previous in-person meetings whether on campus or in homes).1

One additional mandate was added regarding the prohibition against congregational singing.2 We believe this restriction violates God’s call for His people to worship Him in song together (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16; Psalm 95-96).3 We plan to continue to make this part of our worship experience during Sunday gatherings. We will also be implementing some risk-limiting measures with our worship team on Sundays as we sing (number; masking non-singers).

We will continue to follow the safety protocols already in place (face coverings, social distancing, sanitizing) and seek to serve the best interests of our church family, whether spiritual or physical. We understand there will be some who desire to take extra precautions during this time and encourage those to take advantage of our livestream if they are unable to attend. Please remember, if you are feeling ill, have a fever, or a known COVID exposure during the last 14 days, then plan to join our 10:30am Sunday service online.

If you have any questions, please contact the office and we’d be happy to respond to your questions.

Please pray with us as we all continue to walk through this challenging season of life that affords us the opportunity to honor the Lord and His church family with attitudes of love, grace, flexibility, and commitment to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

For the sake of the gospel and the Lord’s Church,

Pastor Jeff and the Elders of CC

1 The new restriction for religious services has not changed: “Indoor spiritual or religious services up to 25% of capacity or 200 people, whichever is less. Face masks are required.” Another restriction states: “Indoor gatherings with people who don’t live with you are prohibited.” Yet another restriction states, “In-home faith-based services or counseling with up to 5 people.” We believe this allows our small off-campus groups to continue to meet together in homes as we have been doing.

2 The new restriction states “Choirs, bands, and ensembles are not allowed. Congregational singing not allowed.”

3 Ephesians 5:19: “Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your hearts to the Lord”; Colossians 3:16: “Let the Word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Read Psalm 95:1-2: “Come, let’s sing for joy to the Lord. Let’s shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let’s come before His presence with a song of thanksgiving. Let’s shout joyfully to Him in songs with instruments”; Psalm 96:1-2: “Sing to the Lord a new song; Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
