An Important Note from Our Elders

NOTE FROM OUR ELDERS REGARDING OFF-SITE “RELIGIOUS” GATHERINGS (UPDATED AUGUST 6, 2020)

As we continue to process and respond to the regular updates from our governor regarding COVID-19, we have sought to honor the Lord and our governing authorities, maintain a good testimony, and serve the well-being of our people. We recently contacted the state to seek clarification on the meaning and application of “religious services” and hosting outdoor, off-site gatherings where regular smaller group gatherings have been held as part of the church’s ministry (at private residences).

The state is permitting outdoor, off-site “religious services” (church events, gatherings at private residences) with the following protocols: The number of people is limited to 25% (or up to 200 whichever is less. Calculate by dividing the usable outdoor square footage by 60) of usable outdoor space. Social distancing is to be practiced, hand sanitizing available, and face coverings are worn if social distancing is not being practiced.

In light of this, we are permitting groups (e.g., Life Groups, Flourish groups, student ministry, Regenerate ministry, etc.) to meet outside and off-campus as long as the stated protocols are being followed (social distancing, hand sanitizing available, masks worn if social distancing is not being practiced).

We continue to encourage our people to love, care for, and prefer one another as we seek to “make more and better disciples of Jesus Christ” together.
