Satisfied in You

Lord God, thank you that you are so faithful to us. Thank you that you hold us tightly and that we are eternally secure in your hand so that no one, not even ourselves, can snatch us out of your grip. Thank you for your word and your many promises that remain true even in seasons of suffering, hardship, and wandering.

Thank You for the rest that You give, God. Teach us to be satisfied in You and all the grace that You’ve given us. In this time in which many of us are hurting, lonely, far from You, or even simply feeling tempted to complain, let our sighs give way to songs that sing about Your faithfulness. Let our pain reveal Your glory as our only real rest. Remind us day by day that all we truly have is You, and that You are more than enough for us.

We know that You work all things for good, and so we ask You to help us see the many good things that You’re doing in our lives. Help us to see Your gifts not simply as "givens" in our lives, but also to be thankful for every mercy that You give us daily.

Thank You for the cross where Your Son suffered in our place. Thank You that we are forgiven because of the punishment He took for us. Thank You for the eternal hope that we cling to because of His finished work for us. We love You, Lord. In Jesus’ name we come before You with these things. Amen.
