Deborah Led Israel (Judges 4-5)
Read & Discuss
Napoleon Bonaparte was declared Emperor of France in 1804. His goal was to conquer all of Europe. Though his armies were smart and powerful in battle, Napoleon made many enemies and they were too many and too powerful to defeat. His success ended at the battle of Waterloo. As God’s people continued to sin against Him, they found themselves facing many enemies. Deborah reminded the Israelites that their God was bigger and stronger than all their enemies. God received the glory from battle victories. God sent Jesus to reign victorious over sin and death, and He is worthy of all honor, glory, and power (Rev. 4:11).
Activity
God has blessed Children’s Ministry with godly ladies who serve children. Make or purchase a ‘thank you’ card and write a note to Janis Schlepp, Gail Brewer, or Theresa Dibble telling how much you appreciate them as they serve Jesus and families with kids.
Memory Verse
Read 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Now, work together to learn each of the phrases and memorize as a family.
Prayer
Thank God for the ladies in your life that help lead you close to Him: mom, grandma, teachers, and church leaders. Pray for them that God will strengthen them as they serve Him.
