Fully Loaded

The term “fully loaded” gets used by people and the marketplace to express the sufficiency or total capacity of some resourceful product or service. Sometimes you hear someone say something like this: “I just got the latest upgrade on my phone and it has every bell and whistle you can imagine. It’s fully loaded.

Yet as we know so well, today’s “fully loaded” product or service is tomorrow’s dinosaur. There’s always a new and improved feature or accessory unveiled in the next update. So “fully loaded” doesn’t really mean “fully loaded” when there will be another enhancement.

However, what is truly fully loaded are the all-sufficient resources God blesses every believer with. Read again what God says is ours, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies” (Ephesians 1:3).

  • This is an oft-repeated blessing (2 Peter 1:3; Colossians 2:10a; 1 Corinthians 1:5a; 2 Corinthians 4:6, 9:8; Ephesians 1:8-19a; Romans 8:17, 10:12; and more).

  • It doesn’t need any updates or improvements. It’s still all-sufficient.

  • It enables every believer to accomplish everything God expects or intends for one to be pleasing to Him and conformed to the image of His Son.

  • It lacks nothing except the commitment to tap into its limitless resources to experience its boundless blessing.

How B.L.E.S.S.E.D. are you as God’s child?

  • You have a fully-loaded BIBLE that gives you everything you need to know and do (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Matthew 4:4).

  • You have a fully-loaded LIFE that gives you everything you need to honor God’s will (John 10:10; Colossians 2:10a; 2 Peter 1:3; 2 Corinthians 12:9-10).

  • You have a fully-loaded EMPOWERMENT from the Holy Spirit to energize all you need to live a life worthy of the gospel (Galatians 3:3)

  • You have a fully-loaded SUPPLICATION (prayer) that is always available (Ephesians 6:18), applicable (Philippians 4:6), and accessible (Hebrews 4:16) and can address every burden, problem, challenge, care, sin, or situation.

  • You have a fully-loaded SECURITY that keeps your salvation from being undermined or from falling apart (Philippians 1:6).

  • You have a fully-loaded ENDURANCE that strengthens you to remain faithful to the end, even in the midst of trials (James 1:2-4; Romans 5:3-4).

  • You have a fully-loaded DEFENSE against all the enemies of your faith, whether Satan (John 17:15; 1 John 2:1-2) or your sinful flesh (Romans 6:1-14), and the system of worldly evil (Romans 12:2; 1 John 2:15-17).

If we have this kind of all-sufficient blessing from God, then we must tap into it and utilize its sufficiency for all the various circumstances of our life. Ask yourself the following questions as you think through your present need.

  • Have I consulted God’s Word for guidance in discerning how best to honor God in my circumstance?

  • Have I sought insight, counsel, and encouragement from mature brothers and sisters in Christ?

  • Is my heart’s desire to honor the Lord even if He chooses not to change or fix my circumstance?

  • Are there any unconfessed sins I need to address with the Lord or others?

  • Are there any potential idols of expectations, wants, or emotions that I am bowing down to that need to be acknowledged and turned away from?

  • Am I seeking the Lord’s will and wisdom in prayer?

  • Am I trusting the Lord’s promise of providential care for my good and His glory?

  • Are there any promises from God I need to claim and meditate upon?

  • Am I giving thought to what God wants to teach me and how He wants to make me more like Christ?

Read Ephesians 3:14-21. Pray this amazing prayer for yourself and others in your life and watch what our all-sufficient Lord will do.
