Family Worship - The First Family (Genesis 3:1-16, 25-26)

Read & Discuss

Dads and moms pass down DNA to their kids, determining hair and eye color, height, and more. When Adam and Eve had children, they passed down their sin and sin’s consequences to their sons, Cain and Abel. Just as sin caused his parents to blame each other in the garden, Cain’s sinful anger grew toward Abel and ruled him, and he killed his brother. When sin rules, the consequence is death, but God provides salvation through Jesus. Read one more scripture: Romans 6:23.

Give Thanks

“God, thank You for remembering Your promise to send a Savior. Give us strength to live in a world broken by sin. And thank you that believing in Jesus we can have eternal life with You.”

Memory Verse

Our Bible verse is: Psalm 104:24. “How countless are your works, Lord! In wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.” Memorizing Scripture: A helpful way to memorize a verse is to write it out a few times onto a 3x5 card. Use colored pens for fun!

Prayer

Thank God for your family members by name – parents and siblings. Ask God to help you battle the sin of jealousy or comparing yourself to others. How can comparison lead us to sin? How are we loved and accepted by Jesus’ work instead of our own?
