Joseph Taken From Egypt (Genesis 37, 39-46, 50:15-21)

Read & Discuss

Joseph’s life was like a roller coaster – so many ups and downs! He was a favorite son and had a beautiful multi-colored coat. However, he was sold by his brothers into slavery and ended up in an Egyptian prison though innocent! God’s faithful care for Joseph led him to become the second most powerful man in Egypt and he helped save his family and all the people of Israel from famine.

Activity

Thanksgiving is a great time to be generous. Gather food to donate to a foodbank. Talk together as a family how we can provide for other’s needs and help them feel the love of Jesus. Create a card to go with the food that shares that God loves them, giving Jesus as the greatest gift.

Memory Verse

Genesis 50:20 is a verse about God’s promise for Joseph and for us as well: to cause everything to work together for good, and for God’s glory! “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.”

Prayer

Ask God to help you trust Him in every situation. “God, please remind me that You have a plan for me today, even when things go wrong.” Thank God for one way that He has been faithful.
