Family Worship - God Called Moses (Exodus 1:6-2:10; 3:1-4:20)
Read & Discuss
Have you ever written a note to a friend using secret code? Try it with a family member – can they crack your code? As we begin in Exodus, God is speaking to Moses – through a burning bush that is never burned up. God had a great task for Moses and got his attention in a dramatic way. God had Moses go to Pharaoh and then lead His people out of Egypt. God sent Jesus to save us from our slavery to sin.
Activity
Clear an open space in your living room and ask a family member to walk through it blindfolded. Have another member guide them using only your voice. Discuss the challenge it is to follow a person yet not see them.
Memory Verse
The new verse this week is Psalm 34:17. It says “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles.” Make five cards size 3x5 with the verse written on it, and place in strategic places so the family members can see it often and memorize it.
Prayer
Thank God for speaking to us through His Word, through believers around us, and through the Holy Spirit. “God, we praise You because You are great. We see Your great power in how You used Moses to rescue the Israelites, and we see Your great love in sending Jesus to rescue us from sin. Help us to obey You in everything You tell us to do.”
