What's Your GQ?

Any guesses? No, it’s not about your general quest in life or some gotcha question or your goofiest quirk or greatest quality.

It’s all about your gratitude quotient.

A quotient is a measure, a proportion, an amount of something, and one of the quotients God wants a whole lot of is gratitude.

“In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

“Always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father” (Ephesians 5:20).

Look at one more: “Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude” (Colossians 2:6-7).

There’s no way around it. God wants you and me to be gushing with gratitude…watch this: ”in everything,” “always,” and “for all things.”

How can we pull this off? Because of this: “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen” (Romans 11:36).

Simply put, live a thankful life because God is orchestrating every detail (even the rough stuff) of your life and mine for His glory and our good!
