Building the Tabernacle (Exodus 35:4-40:38)
Read & Discuss
The Royal Standard is a unique flag that shares the location of the King of England. The flag is used to let locals know the King is near them. When in the palace, the flag is flown there. When the King travels, the flag is flown from the car, plane, or home where he is. When the Israelites left Egypt, God went with His people. God made His presence known with a cloud by day and fire by night. God desired to dwell with His people, so He gave Moses instructions on building a home for Him, called the Tabernacle. This was always a powerful reminder that God was with His people. We as God’s people, by faith in Jesus Christ, have God’s powerful presence with us by the Holy Spirit, who lives inside every believer (1 Corinthians 6:19a).
Activity
With blankets and furniture, create an indoor tent. Climb into the tent and read the Bible passage. Remember that God is dwelling with us through His Holy Spirit!
Memory Verse
Put a cup of 7 colored pens at the table. Have each family member daily take a colored pen and write out 1 Samuel 2:2 “There is none holy like the Lord; for there is none besides You; there is no rock like our God.” 7 days; 1 memorized verse.
Prayer
Thank God for your church where believers come to worship God. Believers have the Holy Spirit, God Himself, dwelling in our hearts. Rejoice! We always have Emmanuel, God With Us!
