Disciplemakers
This Sunday, January 5th, we begin our 13th DDM (Disciple Development Month) that began almost 4 years ago in January of 2021. We schedule this focus three times a year (January, May-June, September) to intentionally focus our attention on internalizing and applying our God-given mission “to glorify God by making more and better disciples of Jesus Christ through intentional relationships.” These 3–4 week DDMs are designed to highlight and reinforce the more, better & intentional parts of our mission.
These DDMs are fleshed out in three ways:
A 3–4 week sermon series on a topic that addresses the more, better, and intentional parts of our mission.
5–7 classes held on 3 different days (Sundays, Tues. & Thurs.), designed to help us grow as disciple or disciplemakers.
We suspend our normal ministry schedule and programming (for Men, Women, Students, Young Adults, and Life Groups) to allow and encourage as many to participate as possible.
Over the last 3-1/2 years, we have studied the following topics in our sermon series: #1: Excelling still more as a disciple, #2: Getting along as disciples, #3: Proclaiming Jesus, #4: Hope Now, #5: Living by the Book, #6: Biblical Manhood & Womanhood, #7: Financial Management; #8: Prayer, #9: Staying Mission-minded, #10: Uncommon Wisdom, #11: Go with the Gospel, #12: The Smart Home, and now during the month of January: All in the Family, a look as what Titus 2 teaches us about our privileges and responsibilities in the family of God.
