Moses Led the Israelites (Exodus 17:8-18:27)

Read & Discuss

Getting a snack from the highest shelf in the pantry, learning how to ride your bike – these are just a couple of things we can’t do unless someone helps us. It sometimes can be hard to ask for help because we want to do things on our own, but working together accomplishes so much! Moses had the tough job of leading God’s people. Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, saw it was not good for Moses to lead all on his own every day. God provides brothers and sisters around us as we follow Jesus. These people encourage us to love and obey God and tell others about Jesus.

Activity

Having Aaron and Hur hold up Moses’ hands so the battle would go well is amazing! Think how your kids can be the hands for someone who could use help. They could help shop for groceries, pick up or deliver mail, or help clean up leaves in a front yard. Read 1 John 3:23 and then let’s serve!

Memory Verse

This is the last week for Psalm 34:17 “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles.” Discuss how God has heard and delivered you this week.

Prayer

Praise and thank God for meeting all our needs in Jesus. Thank Him for sending Jesus to be our Savior and forgiving our sins. Pray about helping people that God has made you aware have needs in the next few days.
