Prayer:
Lord, it is so easy to hold grudges and so hard to forgive. I pray that we as a church would work hard to forgive those who wrong us, and be quick to repent of our own sin. Help us to seek reconciliation with people, and not to be prideful with people. We pray that you would help us rid ourselves of anger, wrath, and malice. Help our speech to be pure and upright and that we would be “quick to listen, and slow to speak.” I pray that we would remember the humility and forgiveness that Christ displayed for us, even on the cross. And that we would practice self-sacrificial love with one another, no matter the wrong suffered. “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one" (Mt 6:12-13).
