Praying for our Governing Authorities
This week all across the United States, whether locally or nationally, inaugurations have taken place for incoming mayors, city council members, representatives, senators, judges, and other governing authorities as they begin or continue their work as public servants. It is a good reminder to all of us as disciples of Jesus Christ that we are called to pray for them. 1 Timothy 2:1–4 says, “First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Don't Pray
One of the great resources God gives His people is prayer. God has invited us to pray about everything because He is able to do anything through prayer. Here are of few of the many benefits of prayer.

Pray 1:21 - A Moment of Prayer
Our Elders and leaders would like us to pray daily in unity as we stand together during the Coronavirus pandemic. The CDC confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in the United States (Seattle, WA) on January 21. We have a God who sees and cares and uses everything for a purpose. With that in mind, PRAY 1:21 provides an opportunity to have a moment of prayer, wherever you are, Monday through Friday, at 1:21 pm.

Prayers for the Pandemic
Think about the coronavirus pandemic as a s time to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Losing lives in the pandemic is tragic. But losing souls is even worse. May we use these challenging times to be bold for Christ.
