Building Godly Families
Over this next year, we will be focusing our attention as an entire church on “Building Godly Families.” We will be kicking this effort off with a Family Conference here at CCFW in just two weeks on August 23rd and 24th. The purpose of this conference is to help strengthen families by equipping parents, grandparents (as well as future parents and grandparents), and anyone that is involved in teaching, training, and raising up the next generation. That means you!

Run to Win
The Summer Olympics begin in Paris, France, just three short weeks from now. Athletes from all over the world will be competing in the summer games. These athletes have been training, some of them all of their lives, in order to compete in these Olympic games. These athletes aren’t competing merely for the fun of it. Each and every athlete has been diligently working hard and preparing in such a way that they will win. They know that attention to every detail of their training and lifestyle is essential if they expect to win. So, they have dedicated themselves to being self-disciplined in all areas of their lives, all with the anticipation of winning and standing on the awards podium to receive their medal and to be recognized for their athletic achievements.

Perspective
If you hang around me long enough, one of the things you will discover about me is that I love to listen to music by MercyMe. Perhaps some of you are attending their concert this evening at ShoWare Center. Recently, I was listening to their song, "Better Days Coming." This is an uplifting song about persevering through trials and suffering. At one point in the song the lead singer, Bart Millard, sings, “If it’s not good, then it’s not over yet.” What a great reminder of the importance of having perspective. It got me thinking about the peace, comfort, and hope that God’s covenant faithfulness provides in times of trouble.

God Tests Faith
God tests faith. Like precious metals, faith must be tested in order to validate its authenticity and genuineness. Biblical faith is a confident trust in whatever God says is true and acting upon it regardless of the circumstances or consequences. Impurities exist in our faith when there is a difference between our stated beliefs (what we say we believe and trust in) and how we actually respond when we are under the pressure of life’s difficult circumstances.

Great Calm in the Storm
Imagine this, one minute you are in a storm. The next minute, there is calm. Dan tells us about an experience the disciples lived through with Jesus. He also suggests two things to do when you feel like you are in a storm.

Shake! Celebrate what Christ has done!
Dan shares with us a list of exciting new things that come to us through Christ. It's worth celebrating! Listen to this short message to hear what they are.

Beauty of Immanuel
There are many names of God. His different names teach us something about Him. Discover Dan Brewer's favorite name and why in this one-minute devotional video.
