Fully Loaded
The term “fully loaded” gets used by people and the marketplace to express the sufficiency or total capacity of some resourceful product or service. Sometimes you hear someone say something like this: “I just got the latest upgrade on my phone and it has every bell and whistle you can imagine. It’s fully loaded.”
Yet as we know so well, today’s “fully loaded” product or service is tomorrow’s dinosaur. There’s always a new and improved feature or accessory unveiled in the next update. So “fully loaded” doesn’t really mean “fully loaded” when there will be another enhancement.
Moments
It was a feeling I have not had in a long time. I’ve had moments like this before, but there was something different about it this time.
How did this happen so fast? Why is this moisture welling up in my eyes? I turned to look at Kim and sure enough, the tears were streaming.
You see, we were watching our last child, our little baby girl, Annabelle, as we’ve affectionally called her over the years, proudly walking across a makeshift concert stage in the end zone of Mount Tahoma High School football field. She was receiving her high school diploma from Stadium High School.
Trust God
The African Impala can jump to a height of over 10 feet and cover a distance of greater than 30 feet. Yet these magnificent creatures can be kept in an enclosure in any zoo with a 3-foot wall. The animals will not jump if they cannot see where their feet will fall.
Faith is simply believing whatever God says is true. It’s the ability to trust God in spite of what we cannot see (Hebrews 11:1). Faith frees us from the flimsy enclosures of life that fear allows us to be entrapped by.
Remember
The research into our brain’s storage capacity is absolutely remarkable.
It has been discovered that your mental storage capacity is somewhere around 2.5 petabytes. Say what??? Well, maybe this will help: 2.5 petabytes is a million gigabytes, or enough to hold 300 years of nonstop television shows, or listening to one billion minutes of music in an MP3 format (that’s 16,666,666.6667 hours, or 69,4444.444444 days, or 22,831.025208 months or 1,902.58751903 years). Can we all agree this is a large storage capacity?
Not in Vain

Do you ever wonder if what you do for the Lord in ministry really matters? Does my involvement help? Does it count? Am I really making a difference?
My two favorite verses in the Bible are these: “but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:57–58).
COVID-19 Protocol Statement
As we all know too well, it has been a challenging 14 months navigating the ever-evolving, ever-changing effects and government guidance regarding COVID-19. It has been our prayer and commitment to lead and shepherd our church family as best we could through this difficult time. We have sought to honor the Lord in gathering and ministering to our people, honor our governing authorities (unless we feel they have asked us to dishonor the Lord), and encouraged everyone to love, care and prefer one another as we share differing convictions and perspectives along the way. We know we haven’t done this perfectly, but we have appreciated your faithful prayers, love, grace, and responsiveness during this time.
We Love Our Widows

We hear the love and heart of God when He speaks of widows in the church and how we are to care for them. We see in Acts 6 that the very first ministry developed in the early church was to widows. The early church was simple in its approach with very few programs. There was worship, the breaking of bread at the Lord’s table, prayer, teaching of sound doctrine, and sharing of the good news to a lost world. The first ministry program we see was for widows.
God's Got It!
Charles Haddon Spurgeon (Victorian, Calvinist, Baptist minister) spoke these vivid words in a message entitled "Divine Sovereignty" on May 4, 1856:
“There is no attribute more comforting to His children than that of God's Sovereignty. Under the most adverse circumstances, in the most severe trials, they believe that Sovereignty has ordained their afflictions, that Sovereignty overrules them, and that Sovereignty will sanctify them all. There is nothing for which the children ought more earnestly to contend than the doctrine of their Master over all creation—the Kingship of God over all the works of His own hands—the Throne of God and His right to sit upon that Throne.”
Where did Pastor Spurgeon get this thinking and why should you and I as God’s children embrace it?
Examine Yourself
I hate going to the doctor!
I especially dislike those comprehensive physical examinations. The thorough inspection of my physical body and functions usually reminds me yearly of my need to take better care of myself. It doesn’t help when your doctor asks you those pointed questions about your diet, exercise, and rest habits. I can take the prods, pokes, and pulls without the stinging interrogation. But as we all know and appreciate, it’s for our good (isn’t it??).
